TIC (May, 2018) – The transition to the summer break may be difficult for students who have experienced trauma. Students may be scared of being at home for long periods of time, without basic necessities, in an unstructured or unsafe environment. Reactions to perceived stressors or fear of the unknown may activate the fight, flight, or freeze response. This brain-based survival response may resemble misbehaviors.
