The first FCS Cares, Trauma-Informed Care inspired SHOUT-OUT, goes to the cafeteria staff at Findlay High School!

During lunch, the cafeteria staff used a reporting protocol card that was developed for classified employees to determine what to do after a student shared information that indicated the student was in crisis.  They did not give up calling phone numbers on the back of the card until they reached a person in the main office who could find help for the student. Their care and persistence paid off! A counselor met with the student to assess the crisis and to provide support.  A cafeteria staff member followed-up with the TIC Classified Committee to debrief after the incident, with the goal of providing feedback to the cafeteria staff as a whole. This is a wonderful example of collaboration between employees to make sure our students feel cared for and are safe!
