The Tip of the Month is simple – Relationships Matter! Relationships are more important than ever, especially with all of the additional stressors and fast approaching holiday season. That’s why the TIC Classified Committee is challenging FCS staff and students to participate in Ohio’s Strive for Five Challenge! This is a new, statewide awareness campaign to help individuals and families cope with feelings of stress, anxiety, and isolation by connecting with others.
Trojans are hard working, brave, caring, and determined. Together, we can do this! Let’s make this bigger than the Ice Bucket Challenge! School buildings can challenge other schools, classrooms can challenge other classrooms, Trojans can challenge each other!
The challenge is simple!
Ohio’s Strive for Five is a challenge to everyone across our state to identify five people they know whom they can check in on every day for the next 30 days.
You can call, text, message, write to, or connect online via Google Meet, Zoom, etc.
There is no script. All you need to do is be present with each person and ask them how they are doing.
The key is to show empathy! Listen.
“I’m in it with you.”
“I’m not here to fix problems, just to listen, talk and #bethere”
“I’m not here to feel it for you. I am here to feel with you and let you know that you are not alone.”
