FINDLAY CITY SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING
May 17, 2021

The Findlay City Schools Board of Education met on May 17, 2021 in regular session at 6:00 p.m. at Glenwood Middle School and via teleconference. President Siebenaler Wilson called the meeting to order. Present were Mr. Aldrich, Mr. Cooper, Ms. Eier, Mrs. Russel, Dr. Siebenaler Wilson, Treasurer Mr. Hammond, Assistant Superintendent Mrs. Miller, and Superintendent Mr. Roth.

2021-005-001 READING, APPROVAL, AND SIGNING OF MINUTES

It was motioned by Mrs. Russel, seconded by Mr. Cooper to approve the Regular Meeting Minutes from April 19, 2021 and Special Meeting Minutes from April 28, 2021.

Roll call: Mrs. Russel, aye; Mr. Cooper, aye; Mr. Aldrich, aye; Ms. Eier, aye; Dr. Siebenaler Wilson, aye. President Siebenaler Wilson declared the motion carried.

CELEBRATIONS

Mr. Williams celebrated the Children’s Mentoring Connection fundraiser at Millstream that raised over $6000.00. Dr. Siebenaler Wilson recognized Millstream and the 310 seniors in the passport assembly. On behalf of Mrs. Hamlin, Dr. Siebenaler Wilson reiterated the hard-work from all the teachers and staff and said Millstream was looking at wrapping things up for the year. Mrs. Simon from Glenwood wanted to celebrate her staff during state testing and said she was looking forward to celebrating the students over the next 2 weeks. Ms. Eier celebrated Lincoln and there open-house Tuesday evening. Mrs. Russel wanted to celebrate renaming of the baseball field to Woody Curlis and to celebrate 106-year history of Lincoln school. Mr. Cooper celebrated Donnell and the inspirational message to students from Ohio Supreme Court Justice Sharon Kennedy. Also, Donnell had 5 students qualify for the State Junior High track meet, Whittier students set a goal to receive 800 Trojan heads for positive behavior and good leadership in the classroom and are over half way there. Mr. Cooper celebrated Woody Curlis and the renaming of the baseball field and the boy’s tennis team heading to the district tournament this weekend. Mr. Aldrich celebrated Mr. Best and his work at Wilson Vance, teacher appreciation week, and congratulated the winner of The Big Shake, Jason. Mr. Roth celebrated Clothe-a-Child that raised over $12,000, Jacobs open-house Saturday that was a success, and the athletic department for the outstanding job in putting together the renaming celebration of the baseball field

W. 2021-2022 Elementary Fees

The superintendent recommends that fees be set at $68 for grades Kindergarten through 5. This $68 fee includes $25 for the year’s technology protection plan for Chromebooks that are issued to them.

X. 2021-2022 Middle School Fees

The superintendent recommends that fees remain at $85 per student for grades 6, 7 and 8. These fees include $25 for the year’s technology protection plan for Chromebooks that will be issued to all middle school students.

Y. 2021-2022 Breakfast and Lunch Pricing

The treasurer recommends the Breakfast and Lunch prices for the 2021-2022 school year as shown in EXHIBIT F.

Z. Ohio High School Athletic Association Membership

The superintendent recommends continued membership for grades 7 – 12 of the Findlay City School District in the Ohio High School Athletic Association in accordance with the Constitution, By Laws, Regulations, Interpretations and Decisions of the OHSAA for the 2021-2022 school year as shown in EXHIBIT G.

SUPERINTENDENTS COMMENTS

Graduation Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 29, 2021. On June 14, 2021 FLC graduation will take place prior to the BOE meeting.
