The 13th FCS Cares, Trauma-Informed Care inspired SHOUT-OUT goes to Deb Schaefer at Bigelow Hill Intermediate!
Deb has been an instructional aide in the district for many years. For the past several years she has worked at Bigelow Hill. She is absolutely a vital colleague for our students and the entire building. She spends her time working one-on-one and in small groups to provide the extra educational support students need to be successful in the academic setting. Often, the students she sees need that extra love and support she provides due to challenges they face outside of school. Additionally, she will work in the classroom to support both students and teachers. She develops impacting relationships with the students she works with at Bigelow Hill. When students would come in for Trojan Time she would provide snacks and/or make sure they got breakfast or lunch. She is extremely flexible and will go above and beyond for students and teachers. Bigelow Hill is very fortunate to have Deb. She truly makes a difference in the lives of our students!
