FINDLAY CITY SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING MINUTES
June 14, 2021

The Findlay City Schools Board of Education met June 14, 2021 in regular session at 6:00 p.m. at Glenwood Middle School and via teleconference. President Siebenaler Wilson called the meeting to order. Present were Mr. Cooper, Ms. Eier, Mrs. Russel, Dr. Siebenaler Wilson, Treasurer Mr. Hammond, Assistant Superintendent Mrs. Miller, and Superintendent Mr. Roth.

2021-006-001 READING, APPROVAL, AND SIGNING OF MINUTES

It was motioned by Mrs. Russel, seconded by Mr. Cooper to approve the regular meeting minutes from May 17, 2021.

Roll call: Mrs. Russel, aye; Mr. Cooper, aye; Ms. Eier, aye; Dr. Siebenaler Wilson, aye. President Siebenaler Wilson declared the motion carried.

CELEBRATIONS
Mr. Roth welcomed everyone to the June 14th Board meeting. Ms. Eier celebrated the new summer camps that kicked off today at Donnell and Glenwood. Mr. Cooper celebrated graduation in the stadium. He also celebrated the students and staff for the up and down year with the pandemic. Mrs. Russel celebrated HPH discussing mosquitos and not the pandemic. She also celebrated the class of 2021 and their perseverance. Superintendent Roth celebrated the 20 FLC graduates and Tricia Klausing on being awarded a grant from Findlay Rotary Club in the amount of $1680.00 for the anticipated sensory room at the preschool. The K-5 summer program began today with over 150 students, Camp Discovery with over 130 students and the middle school program with over 65 students. Kelly Young was recognized in the OSBA newsletter for all of her efforts during Teacher Appreciation.

SUPERINTENDENTS COMMENTS

Summer Lunch program began at Glenwood on June 7th from 11:30-12:30 Monday-Thursday for anyone under the age of 18. Take home meals are available on Thursday. Dennis Doolittle has been very busy with summer projects and preparing the buildings for the 2021-2022 school year. Thursday of this week negotiations begin with custodians, grounds and maintenance.

BOARD’S COMMENTS

Mrs. Russel asked Mr. Doolittle how the summer projects are progressing. Mr. Doolittle indicated everything is on schedule and his crew is looking forward to good weather this week to remain on schedule.

Mr. Cooper left at 6:51 pm.

It was motioned by Mrs. Russel, seconded by Ms. Eier to go into executive session at 6:51 pm to discuss employment and compensation of personnel and upcoming negotiations pending litigation.
