FINDLAY CITY SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING MINUTES
June 28, 2021

The Findlay City Schools Board of Education met June 28, 2021 in regular session at 6:00 p.m. at Glenwood Middle School and via teleconference. President Siebenaler Wilson called the meeting to order. Present were Mr. Aldrich, Ms. Eier, Dr. Siebenaler Wilson, Treasurer Mr. Hammond, Assistant Superintendent Mrs. Miller, and Superintendent Mr. Roth.

2021-006-010 READING, APPROVAL, AND SIGNING OF MINUTES

It was motioned by Ms. Eier, seconded by Mr. Aldrich to approve the regular meeting minutes from June 14, 2021.
Roll call: Ms. Eier, aye; Mr. Aldrich, aye; Dr. Siebenaler Wilson, aye. President Siebenaler Wilson declared the motion carried.

CELEBRATIONS

Mr. Roth welcomed everyone to the meeting and commented on how busy everyone has been with curriculum writing, new staff hires, and building projects. Ms. Eier celebrated all the new hires. Dr. Siebenaler Wilson celebrated the FHS Hockey Team assisting with Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Aldrich thanked the staff and Mr. Roth for all the time and dedication over the last month in preparing for the upcoming school year. He also celebrated all the student athletes hard at work preparing for their upcoming season. Mr. Roth celebrated coaches, camp counselors, and volunteers for everyone’s time spent over the summer with students. Judy Ennis from Northwest Ohio Tech presented Millstream Career Center and Pam Hamlin a mini-grant for $6750.00 to assist in tracking the Work-Based Learning hours of students in the upcoming year.

The Superintendent recommends the engagement of Lori Faeth as the Special Education Coordinator for Findlay Digital Academy for the 2021-2022 school year to be purchased through Findlay City Schools at a cost of $42,000.00 for a 10 month contract effective August 9, 2021, (2 weeks before school starts, until 2 weeks after school ends) to include 40 weeks of service, contingent upon approval of the Findlay City Board of Education and provided the Board retains sufficient funding during the 2021-2022 school year to maintain said engagement through the end of the 2010-2022 school year.

College & Career Readiness Coordinator

The Executive Director recommends the engagement of Sharon Snyder as a Secretary for Findlay Digital Academy for the 2021-2022 school year to be purchased through Findlay City Schools at a cost of $16.78 per hour as a purchased service through Findlay City Schools on an as needed basis, contingent upon approval of the Findlay City Board of Education.

Data Coach
The Executive Director recommends the engagement of Mary Beth Faeth as Data Coach for the Findlay Digital Academy for the 2021-2022 school year to be purchased through Findlay City Schools at a cost $22.43 per hour as a purchased service through Findlay City Schools on an as needed basis, contingent upon approval of the Findlay City Board of Education and provided the Board retains sufficient funding during the 2021-2022 school year to maintain said engagement through the end of the 2021-2022 school year.

Attendance Coach
The Executive Director recommends the engagement of Cindy Frantz, as Findlay Digital Academy Attendance Coach for the 2021-2022 school year to be purchased through Findlay City Schools at the cost of $22.43 per hour as a purchased service through Findlay City Schools for up to 29 hours per week for 38 weeks of service, (one week before school starts and one week after), contingent upon approval of the Findlay City Board of Education and provided the Board retains sufficient funding during the 2021-2022 school year to maintain said engagement through the end of the 2021-2022 school year.

Mr. Roth discussed cancelling the July 12, 2021 and July 26, 2021 BOE meetings and rescheduling for July 19, 2021.

It was motioned by Ms. Eier, seconded by Mr. Aldrich to cancel the July 12, 2021 and the July 26, 2021 Board of Education meetings and replacing them with one meeting on July 19, 2021.

H.B.110 Fair School Funding Plan appears to be the new formula for school funding for the upcoming year. July 19, 2021 will be the next Board meeting.

It was motioned by Ms. Eier, seconded by Mr. Aldrich to go into executive session at 6:25 pm to discuss employment and compensation of personnel.

It was motioned by Ms. Eier, seconded by Mr. Aldrich to adjourn the meeting at 6:59 pm.
