Superintendent of Schools
Ed Kurt begins his Superintendent tenure of Findlay City Schools after serving as Superintendent of Margaretta Local Schools for twelve years. Prior serving as a Superintendent Mr. Kurt held administrative positions at Perkins Local Schools, Worthington City Schools, and Madison Plains Local Schools. Mr. Kurt also taught Mathematics in the Madison-Plains Local school district, and Sandusky City Schools. Mr. Kurt has a Bachelor degree from Ohio State University in Mathematic Education, and a Masters degree from Ashland University in Education Administration.
He is a member of the Buckeye Association of School Administrators (BASA), Legislative Committee and OHSAA Committee. Mr. Kurt has also served as a mentor to new superintendents for BASA on two occasions. Mr. Kurt and his wife Kim live in the Findlay district, and are the proud parents of six adult children, and six grandchildren.
Troy Roth begins his Assistant Superintendent tenure of Findlay City Schools after serving as Principal of Margaretta Middle/High School for four years. Prior to serving as principal, Mr. Roth served 10 years as the Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at Margaretta. Mr. Roth also taught Business in the Sandusky City School District for eight years. Mr. Roth has a Bachelors degree from Bowling Green State University in Business Education, and a Masters degree from Ashland University in Education Administration. Troy has been married to his wife Kari and they have three children, Gabby, Ryan, and Justin.
|MIKE BARNHART, CPA
Findlay City School Treasurer
Mike Barnhart began his work with Findlay City Schools in December 2004. He began his career as a school treasurer with the Oberlin City School District in Lorain County in March of 1999. He later became treasurer of Fairview Park City Schools in Cuyahoga County before coming to Findlay.
Prior to becoming a school treasurer, he worked in municipal government for the City of Lima Utilities Department for over five (5) years; and before that, he briefly worked in Washington D.C. for the U.S. Department of Education’s National Advisory Council on Indian Education.
Mr. Barnhart grew up in Lima. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University and is a Certified Public Accountant, as well as a Registered School Business Fiscal Officer. Mr. Barnhart also holds certifications as a Certified Management Accountant, Certified Financial Manager, and Certified Government Financial Manager, as well as the State Auditor’s Financial Accountability Certificate. He is married with four children who all attend Findlay City Schools as well as a Findlay school district resident and taxpayer.
Director of Technology
Martin White began his work with Findlay City Schools in August of 2007. Before coming to Findlay City Schools, Mr. White served as the Chief Information Officer for Northwest State Community College.
Prior to Northwest State Community College, he worked at Walsh College, as the Director of the Instructional Design Center, and Technology Director. He has also served in the Federal Aviation Administration as Training Administrator at Detroit Metro Air Traffic Control Tower and as a psychologist with Elliott & Associates.
Mr. White grew up in Columbus, Indiana. He received his bachelors degree from the University of Toledo and masters from Eastern Michigan University. He is member of the Association for Computing Machinery and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He currently lives with his wife in Toledo.
Director of Elementary Instruction
Stephanie Roth began her work with Findlay City Schools in the fall of 1995. She began her career with the district at Glenwood Middle School, working as the LD resource room teacher. In the fall of 1999 she changed teaching assignments at Glenwood and began teaching 7th grade regular education classes of Language Arts and Math. She remained at Glenwood teaching until the 2001 school year when she became the assistant principal at Donnell Middle School and eventually served as the head principal at Donnell. In the fall of 2006 she began in her current position, elementary curriculum director, for the Findlay City Schools.
Stephanie Roth was raised in Arcadia, Ohio. She attended Bowling Green State University where she received her degree and certificate in elementary education 1-8 and special K-12 education. Ms. Roth received her master degree from the University of Findlay in 2000 and completed additional course work to earn her administrator’s license K-12 in 2002. Stephanie currently resides in Findlay and has one son.
Director of Secondary Instruction
Rich Steiner is in his second stint with the Findlay City Schools. Earlier in his 38 year education career Rich taught mathematics at Glenwood Junior High School before becoming the Assistant Principal and then Principal of Donnell. He came back to the district after serving as a high school principal for four years and a local school superintendent for fourteen years in Hancock County. Since his return to Findlay City Schools he has served as the Assistant Director of Millstream Career Center for one year and Principal of Central Middle School for two years. He began his teaching career as a high school mathematics teacher and football coach at Whiteford High School in Ottawa Lake, Michigan. He also coached football for seven years at Findlay High School, and wrestling and track at Glenwood.
Rich earned his Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Toledo and a Master of Education degree from Bowling Green State University. He has completed over thirty semester hours of graduate course work beyond his Master’s degree to become licensed as a school superintendent.
He is a member of Findlay Evangelical Free Church, Vice Chairman of the Hancock Federal Credit Union Board of Directors and is an Eagle Scout. Rich’s wife, Patti, is an RN at Blanchard Valley Medical Associates and Cascade Women’s Health. They are the proud parents of six children and eleven grandchildren.
Director of Millstream Career Center
Pam Hamlin is a Findlay High School graduate who received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Findlay. She taught 5th grade at Wilson Vance before moving to Central Middle School to teach grades 6-8. Her K-8 license has allowed her to teach all subject areas. She moved into the role of Dean of Students and Athletic Director at Central before moving to Bigelow Hill as the principal. She received her Masters degree from University for Findlay in Education and Administration. She served two years as principal for both Bigelow Hill and Northview Elementary. Pam moved to Millstream Career Center in 2015 serving as the Assistant Director and in 2018- moved into the Director role.
Pam serves on the Chamber Advisory Board, is the Vice-President of our region for Ohio Career Tech Association and is the Networking Chair for CCS in the state of Ohio. Pam and her husband Tim reside in Findlay and own Trends! on Main. She enjoys spending time with her adult children: Brittany, Kristina, Tyler and Blake.
