Marketing students will explore marketing communications, merchandising and professional selling.
Marketing I is designed to prepare students to develop the skills necessary to be a team player and marketing professional in today’s constantly-changing business world.
Marketing II will advance student knowledge in the marketing areas introduced in Marketing I. In addition, students will create, execute, and evaluate promotional strategies, and content for advertising, sales, promotion, and publicity/public relations. In the final course
Strategic Entrepreneurship students will use innovation skills to generate ideas for new products and services, evaluate the feasibility of ideas, and develop a strategy for commercialization. Students have a unique opportunity to participate in DECA, a marketing student association that helps members develop leadership and teamwork skills, a network of marketing contacts, and a desire to serve the community.
Marketing I
Grades: 11 or 12 – 1 Credit – Full Year

They will develop and implement marketing strategies and techniques across marketing functions: channel management, marketing research, market planning, pricing, product/service management and branding. Technology, employability skills, leadership and communication will be incorporated in classroom activities. Students have a unique opportunity to participate in DECA, a marketing student association that helps members develop leadership and teamwork skills, a network of marketing contacts, and a desire to serve the community.

Marketing II
Grade: 12 – 1 Credit – Full Year
Marketing II will advance student knowledge in the marketing areas introduced in Marketing I. In addition, students will create, execute, and evaluate promotional strategies, and content for advertising, sales, promotion, and publicity/public relations. Students will also develop buying and merchandising skills. Technology, employability skills, leadership and communications will be incorporated in classroom activities. Students are members of DECA and will continue to develop marketing competency, integrity, and teamwork while participating in local, district, and state DECA activities.

Strategic Entrepreneurship
Grade: 12 – 1 Credit – Full Year
Students will use innovation skills to generate ideas for new products and services, evaluate the feasibility of ideas, and develop a strategy for commercialization. They will use technology to select target markets, profile target customers, define the venture’s mission and create business plans. Students will take initial steps to establish a business. Students will calculate and forecast costs, break-even, and sales. Establishing brand, setting prices, promoting products, and managing customer relationships will be emphasized.
